2013 Color Trends: Why Neutrals Continue To Attract Us

Does the amount of information coming at you everyday leave you wishing you could turn off your eyes and ears for a little while? Are the never-ending demands of life catching up with you? You are not alone.

A collective desire to turn down the noise of life has many longing to escape the overwhelming mental stress and stimulation. It may have you seeking subdued spaces and colors both inside and outside your home.

The palette of neutrals you will be seeing in 2013 and beyond deliver the restful environment your weary spirit craves. Infused with red and yellow, the new neutrals are comforting, warm and nurturing. Gone are synthetic or man-made shades that don’t feel authentic.

These color-infused neutrals come straight from the natural environment. They allow you to bring the calm found in open spaces and fresh, clear air into your home. Keeping the color muted and décor simple turns down the static of daily life. It allows you to find a quiet place amid the chaos to hear the guidance of your own inner voice.

Look for craftsmanship, authenticity, and a touch of nostalgia to be important in describing the products that characterize a renewed outlook of hope, and optimism that is part of the neutrals trend. These are words that could be used to describe all of the DaVinci Roofscapes simulated slate or shake roof products so no matter which color you choose you'll be perfectly on trend.

Interesting idea that we need calm colors at home to counteract overly busy lifestyles. I agree it's more practical to use neutral colors with roofing & siding that you only replace every 25 to 50 years, but indoors I think using paint to decorate is one of the most cost effective tools that's not used enough.
