BRRRR! Can a DaVinci Roof Be Installed In Colder Weather??

Can I have my DaVinci synthetic slate or shake roof tiles installed in the winter time?  YES!  While many other roofing materials can't be installed in freezing temperatures, contractors can pick back up their hammers and install your synthetic slate or wood shake roof during the winter months!

Our roof tiles can be installed in temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit.  The reason?  Our carefully formulated imitation slate and shake roof tiles aren't brittle (like plastic roofing materials are thought to be), even in the cold, so your contractor doesn't have to worry about excess breakage due to a cold weather installation.

The result?  You have a fantastic, new DaVinci roof before the "roofing season" even starts!

if you install in cold weather say 40 - 60 degrees won't the roof tiles expand when the hot sun shines on the roof and you get temperatures in excess of 90 - 100 degrees? will they tiles want to expand and sort of run (push on each other, especially the shake with over lapping channels) together and buckle (at least a little) upward?

Hi Dan,

If installing in cooler weather we definitely recommend a small gap of 3/8” between the tiles to allow for expansion and contractor in the warmer months. Here is the link to our installation guide on our website - http://www.davinciroofscapes.com/document-download/?document_id=37.
