From The Architect's Corner - Retro Fit Snowguards

As I type this blog, a snow storm is on its way to our hometown of Kansas City and by the time this posts on Friday (assuming the weather forecaster is correct...so we'll give it about a 50/50 shot!) we should have a nice blanket of snow.

Every winter I get calls from design professionals asking if it is possible to retro-fit snow guards to our material. Although we always recommend snow guards be installed with our synthetic slate and synthetic shake products, sometimes people don't think they need them and are surprised when they get several inches of snow and it turns out they do. Snow and ice falling off a roof isn't something to be taken lightly, so if you have a project in a snow prone climate and it doesn't have snow guards, or enough snow guards, contact your supplier and request a retro-fit system.

Happy Friday (and winter), Architects!
