Does My Home Need Snowguards?

Warm fires, hot chocolate, snowmen, and candy canes -- what a wonderful time of the year! However, while the season may bring with it many joys, you must never forget that the weather outside can be frightful. With winter close to half-way through, it is important to make sure that your home is protected from the sometimes dangerous winter weather.

One of the best ways to avoid snow and ice damage to your home is through the installation of snow guards. Snow can accumulate on your roof during a storm, and slide off of your roof in large amounts. If children or passersby are below your roof, snow falling in mass amounts can be potentially life-threatening. Snowguards, however, effectively eliminate this risk during the cold season. Installed on roofs in various places, they prevent snow and ice from suddenly sliding down.

Ice, too, can sometimes accumulate on the top of your roof, and if it falls in mass amounts, it can often be even more dangerous than snow. Snowguards also prevent this from happening. They allow snow and ice to melt slowly so that anything or anyone below is not in danger.

Whether you own a slate alternative roof or even an environmentally friendly roof (both options available through DaVinci Roofscapes), you can rest assured that snow guards will not only protect your roof but also the people living underneath it. Would you like to receive more information about installing snow guards on your DaVinci Roof? Thanks for the tips! I didn't realize that some roofs use snowguards to prevent snow from accumulating. My roof could use something to prevent snow accumulation. Would a snowguard be affective for a flat roof? Because I house has a flat roof, it needs a lot of repairs because there's usually a lot of snow that sits on top of it for a long period of time. I could sure use something to keep the snow and ice off of my roof.
