Are there performance issues with any of your products that prohibit their use when used directly over sheathing that is insulated with closed cell foam and no ventilation? This walk-up attic is going to be renovated into conditioned living space. Thanks!

We do not prohibit the installation of our products over sheathing that is insulated with closed cell insulation.

There are two main issues with installing steep slope roof coverings over a non-vented space.

1. Moisture from the house damages the decking and roofing material over time.

Whereas DaVinci will have no responsibility for the decking in a non-vented sytem, if the closed cell is properly installed and there is adequate mechanical ventilation in the house, the system will perform just fine.

2. The roof covering is hotter because it the heat is not able to dissipate into a vented attic.

Because of the rib structure on our DaVinci the tiles and the nature of our material, the temperature of our tiles on a hot sunny day is only negligibly warmer on a non- vented deck than a vented deck.
