How To Find A Licensed and Insured Roofing Contractor

Steep Slope RoofingOne of the questions that we are often asked if whether or not we know of a roofing contractor in your area.  Chances are, we do or one of our manufacturer representatives can point you in the right direction, but here are some other options that are available in case you are looking for several different bids:
  • Ask your neighbors or your friends if they know of a reputable roofer in your area
  • Local roofing supply distributors will also have a list of roofing contractors that they recommend
  • You can ask your architect or your general contractor to see if they are used to working with a particular roofer
  • The Better Business Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce will have a list of qualified roofing professionals that they can give you.
You'll want to find a roofing contractor that is licensed and insured and you'll want three bids on our green roofing options from contractors on your roofing project.

Roofing contractors should provide you with bids.  For example, if you are trying to determine whether or not you want DaVinci laid straight or staggered, you will want to get a quote on both.

Of course, when you are considering a particular bid, you want to look at the life-cycle cost of our 50 year roofing material - in other words, the cost per year over the entire lifespan of the roof.

Lastly, you will want to choose a roofing contractor that not only provided a clear and understandable bid on our lightweight roofing tiles, but also one with whom you feel comfortable.
