As you may have read on our blog, we have renewed our commitment to support the non-profit organization, Homes for Our Troops (HFOT).
We are supplying our slate roofing materials for project homes for severely injured service people returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Lindsay home in Cumming, GA is getting 610 bundles of our patented DaVinci Bellaforté Villa roofing tiles. Cpl. Joshua Lindsay was on a patrol for his Army battalion in Iraq in 2005 and was shot and then hit by two 81mm mortars.
High-end contractor, Terry Williamson and his fellow roofers will be donating several days to help install the snap-fit, self-locating Bellaforté product on the Lindsay home.
You may or may not know that the Bellaforté slate alternative tiles have achieved some of the strictest testing ratings in the country, including the Miami Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA) and Florida Building Code (FBC) qualifications.
John Gonsalves, president and founder of Homes for Our Troops. says, "DaVinci’s products perfectly complement our goals for creating top-quality, low-maintenance homes for our returning service men and women, we are looking forward to using the Bellaforté roofing tiles in upcoming projects in Georgia, Kansas and Missouri during the first quarter of 2010. And, we believe the traditional slate and shake DaVinci tiles will help us achieve the LEED certification for homes this year in Parkdale and Sandy, Oregon."
