Once you've decided that you'd like to go with one of DaVinci's green roof systems, then sometimes the next choice is whether or not you would like your roofing tiles laid in a straight or a staggered pattern. No matter if you are ordering DaVinci's slate alternative or our synthetic cedar shake, you will definitely want to know the difference between straight or staggered.
Straight - the exposure of each slate is kept consistent (see photo above for how a straight coursing looks)
Staggered Coursing - the exposure of the slate varies by a maximum of 1" on adjacent shingles (see photo below to see how a staggered coursing looks).
Each shingle has an alignment indicator that helps the roofer manage the exposure.
When it comes to installing your roof, you definitely want to find a reputable and experienced roofing contractor to do the job. We, of course, have a roofing installation guide that is full of information on how to install our shingles as well as tips and tricks for your roofing contractor. If you are looking for a roofing contractor in your area, don't hesitate to get in touch with our customer service department so that they can get you in touch with someone.
