You know that getting a new roof is long overdue when you have to catch the water that's dripping out of the ceiling. People who pay attention to the condition of their roof and make appropriate repairs should be able to avoid such a depressing event, but it can also happen if the roof was incorrectly installed in the first place. Substandard tiles that have low impact and/or low wind ratings are another potential cause of leaks because, even if they were correctly installed, they lose any amount of waterproofing after getting blown off or damaged during storms.
Fortunately, our polymer slate and shake not only look great, but they are also durable, which will help keep water from coming into your home for decades. However, as with any roofing product, our tiles do need to be correctly installed as demonstrated on the home improvement show known as "Hometime" (see video below). In one of their episodes, Dean and Myriam Johnson give tips on keeping a home warm and dry and talk about some of the benefits and beauty of our Bellaforté tiles. Although they share the same waterproof capabilities as all of our tiles, Myriam also talks about why they need to be installed with the right type of metal flashing and other materials.
