Four Key Roofing Tiles
Overall, there are four types of roofing tiles needed to complete most roofing projects — and we have them.
First, you’ll have the starter tiles. These are literally the first tiles that are laid at the bottom of the roof to begin the project.
Second, there’s the field tile. This makes up the majority of the order and covers the large spaces and planes of a roof. These are the main tiles that are most visible on the roof.
Third, there are the hip and ridge tiles. DaVinci offers both one-piece and two-piece tiles to be installed at the roof’s hips or ridge.
Finally, there are the rake tiles. Used with the Bellaforté product line, these tiles are installed to at the gable ends to give a roof a “finished look.”
Some homes have beautiful architectural details called turrets incorporated into their design. The turret is perhaps the most challenging of all roofing structures because it is a cone.
DaVinci Roofscapes has simplified the installation process for turrets and made it easier for a professional roofer to install a great looking custom engineered roof on turrets.
Roofers can provide our DaVinci team with just three dimensions for the turret and we’ll create a custom engineered Turret Package just for you. Send us the length, shingle exposure and circumference/diameter and we’ll figure out the rest. Then we’ll deliver your customized turret package to you, ready to install. Your turret package will include custom cut starter tiles, field bundles, transition bundles and numbered finish bundles all labeled by courses.
Don’t Forget the Snow Guards
With all our DaVinci tiles, you can be assured they are constructed of a composite material made of pure virgin resins, UL and thermal stabilizers, as well as a highly-specialized fire retardant.
Our state-of-the-art tiles are crafted with the greatest degree of color control and consistency in the manufacturing process. The result is an enduring roof that performs beautifully in any climate.
If that climate is a cold, snowy one, make sure to look into snow guards for your roofing project.
Snow guards perform an important function on composite roofs. As the sun warms accumulated snow on a synthetic shake or slate roof, it can slide off in large chunks, causing an avalanche effect. Snow guards are small metal pieces that are strategically placed on your roof (usually on the bottom portions) to help the snow melt more evenly to reduce the avalanche effect.
At DaVinci Roofscapes, we recommend that all homeowners living in areas that routinely see snowfall each year have snow guards installed. This way the melting snows won’t come down and harm your landscaping, deck areas or people who may be nearby when the snow slides.
