The Hicks family likes to make changes to their home. Renovations and additions in 2000, 2003, 2007 and 2012 left the family with new roof lines and, unfortunately, mis-matched asphalt roofing shingles.
Through the years, the Hicks traditional-style home had grown to 13,500 square feet of space in the main house that features six bedrooms and a two-car garage. The carriage house addition features one bedroom and an additional two-car garage.
“The oldest portion of the roof finally got to the age this year where we needed to consider replacing it,” says homeowner Thalia Hammond Hicks. “We had admired a synthetic slate roof on a neighbor’s home and decided to focus on this product.”
Working with a DaVinci representative and Chase Restoration, LLC, Hicks selected a Bellaforté Slate roof in Smokey Gray from DaVinci Roofscapes.
“Because of the many rooflines on this home we paid special attention to snapping guidelines every few courses to ensure installation accuracy,” says Chase Lecklider, owner of Chase Restoration, LLC in Indianapolis, IN. “This family is truly going to enjoy the maintenance-free aspect of the DaVinci synthetic slate roofing.
“Most real slate and shake roofing materials are hard to repair, require ongoing maintenance and don’t allow easy access to the roof for other issues. DaVinci solves all those problems. Not only do the Hicks get a great looking roof that complements their home exterior, but they get the peace-of-mind of having a roof that’s Class A fire rated and Class 4 impact resistance rated. These durable tiles also resist winds up to 110 mph and are backed by a Lifetime Limited Material Warranty.”
Now complete, the three-week re-roofing project has inspired neighbors of Hicks to invest in DaVinci roofs.
“Bob and I love the look of our new roof,” says Hicks. “It’s pulled together all of our renovations under one gorgeous roof. And, we’re pleased that some of our neighbors have liked the roof work so much that they’ve had Chase Restoration assist with getting them new roofs!”
